Towards the next generation of the LinkedGeoData project using virtual knowledge graphs

With the advancement of Semantic Technologies, large geospatial data sources have been increasingly published as Linked on Web. The LinkedGeoData project is one most prominent such projects to create a knowledge graph from OpenStreetMap (OSM) with global coverage and interlinking other sources. In this paper, we report ongoing effort exposing relational database in SPARQL endpoint using Virtual Knowledge Graph (VKG) technology. Specifically, present two realizations VKGs, systems Sparqlify Ontop. order improve compliance OGC GeoSPARQL standard, implemented support Ontop v4. Moreover, evaluated VKG-powered test areas Italy Germany. Our experiments demonstrate that system supports complex queries, which confirms query answering VKG approach efficient.
